Delhi records season's hottest day at 43.5°C, relief likely from Friday

New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI): Delhi sweltered under intense heat on Tuesday as temperatures neared 45°C, forcing residents to shield themselves with dupattas, gamchas and umbrellas while venturing outdoors.
Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 43.5°C, the highest of the season so far. The Ridge station recorded 44.7°C, which was 3.6 degrees above normal.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), hot and humid conditions are likely to persist over the next two days.
