Delhi to sizzle before rain brings major relief; temperatures set to drop by 6 degrees

New Delhi, Jun 8 (UNI) Delhi is likely to witness a spell of hotter weather over the next two days before thunderstorms, rain, and a sharp drop in temperatures bring significant relief from the heat later this week, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather office on Monday said maximum temperatures across the national capital are expected to rise by around 2 degrees Celsius during the next 48 hours, with no significant change thereafter before falling by 4-6 degrees Celsius from June 12 onwards. Minimum temperatures are also expected to increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius till June 10 before declining later in the week.
The forecast has been attributed to an upper-air cyclonic circulation persisting over North Haryana and adjoining areas, another cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring regions, and a trough extending from eastern Uttar Pradesh to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from June 11.
