Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 (UNI) Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan has requested the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to sanction a special package for the development of tourism infrastructure and facilities in Dhenkanal.
In a letter to Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, Pradhan said there is a massive untapped potential of the tourism sector in Dhenkanal and offers a fantastic opportunity for tourism development under the historic, environment, ecological and spiritual circuit of the Swadesh darshan scheme.
Pradhan said tourism in Dhenkanal has suffered due to the impact of Covid 19 and a special package would go a long way in resuscitating the tourist's footfall in Dhenkanal which would translate into a huge economic multiplier for the people in the region and adjoining area.
