Devotees visiting Alarnath temple to have darshan of Alarnath Deb

Puri, June.9:(UNI) Hundreds of devotees are visiting Alaranath temple situated at Brahmagiri, 23 KM west of Puri, to have darshan of Lord Alarnath and to taste the “kheer” Prasad.
As per belief, lord Jagannath manifests in Alarnath during this fortnight as darshan of the former remains closed and the Trinity stay put in the Anasargha r(sick room) after suffering from fever following grand bathing on the occasion of Snan purnima.The self explanatory name Brahmagiri means a most sacred place. History books did not mention the name of the ruler who constructed the temple or period of construction but in course of time it became a place of pilgrimage following Sri Chaitanya Dev’s visit in 1610 A.D. Chaitanya had written volumes on the sacredness of the place and the temple.
Sri Chaitanya had written that he visualised manifestation of the lord Jagannath in Alarnath. He camped there for years together worshiping the deity.
