Dhaka court sends ex-police chief to judicial custody

Dhaka, Sep 11 (UNI) A Dhaka court has ordered former police inspector general AKM Shahidul Hoque to be sent to judicial custody after his remand ended in a case related to the killing of businessman Abdul Wadud during the recent student movement, media reports said on Wednesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider issued an order after Sub-Inspector Baizid Bostami, the investigation officer, presented Shahidul in court after a seven-day remand and requested his detention, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
According to reports, Shahidul was apprehended by law enforcement on September 3.The next day, a court granted police seven days to interrogate him in custody.
