Dhirendra Shastri defamed Sant Tukaram, should apologise immediately: Patole

Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) Accusing spiritual guru Dhirendra Shastri of defaming Sant Tukaram Maharaj by making offensive statements against him, the Congress on Monday demanded an immediate apology from Shastri.
The state president of Congress Nana Patole said that insulting Tukaram Maharaj is an insult to the entire Warkari community and Maharashtra and the Congress party "strongly condemns" the remarks.
Patole said Sant Tukaram Maharaj is a great saint of the Warkari Saint tradition of Maharashtra.In the seventeenth century, enlightened the sociaty through abhang and kirtana. Shivajiconsidered him as his guru. Tukaram is venerated by the entire Warkari community and Maharashtra.
