Kanakapura, June 4 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has once again raked up power-sharing controversy by asking his supporters to be patient.
"You gave so many votes to make me chief minister. What to do? "Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge took a decision and spoke good words to me. Shouldn't I bow down to the words of seniors? I have to be patient and wait," he said on Saturday evening.
For the first time, Shivakumar spoke on the issue publicly after assuming charge as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's deputy.
In the recent Karnataka assembly election, the Congress snatched power from the BJP by winning 135 seats in the 224-member assembly.
After this, there was a prolonged contest for the CM seat between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah. Ultimately, the party high command annointed Siddaramaiah as the chief minister, and Shivakumar his deputy. UNI BDN SSP
