Don’t engage in character assassination on social media, warns Telangana DGP

Hyderabad, Jan 14 (UNI) Telangana Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy on Wednesday warned that strict legal action will be taken against those indulging in character assassination and spreading false content on social media platforms.
In a statement, the DGP expressed displeasure over increasing incidents of character assassination online and said the police department had already made its policy clear on the matter.
He recalled that during a press conference on October 1, when he assumed charge as DGP, guidelines were issued on the responsible use of social media and it was made clear that action would be taken against those who violate the law.
