Dry spell continues across HP; mercury improves, no fresh snowfall recorded

Shimla, Dec 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh continued to witness dry weather conditions during the past 24 hours, with the sky remaining partly cloudy overnight across many regions.
According to the latest bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there was no significant change in minimum temperatures at most stations, though readings remained 2 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal at several places.
The minimum temperature trend showed a slight improvement in the mercury, offering temporary relief from intense cold conditions. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti at minus 5.7 degrees Celsius, while most mid-hill and low-hill stations reported above-normal night temperatures. Day temperatures in mid and lower hills rose marginally by two to three degrees Celsius, whereas high-altitude areas saw no major fluctuation.
