ED arrests Reliance Power CFO in money laundering case

New Delhi Oct 11, (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Ashok Kumar Pal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Reliance Power (an Anil Ambani Group company), in a money laundering investigation concerning a fake loan guarantee.
According to a senior ED official, Pal was taken into custody yesterday night after he was summoned for questioning at the agency's Delhi office. Following an extended interrogation, he was formally arrested. Pal is scheduled to be produced before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court later today, where the ED will request that he should be remanded to their custody for further investigation.

SC directs Jharkhand to declare Saranda forest as a wildlife sanctuary
