Ex-Chhattisgarh CM Jogi laid to rest with full state honours

Gourela/Raipur, May 30 (UNI) Amid emotional chants of ‘Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega, Jogi Tera Nam Rahega...’, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and Janta Congress Supremo Ajit Jogi was laid to rest with full state honours on Saturday.
Wrapped in tricolor, Mr Jogi’s mortal remains left from his house ‘Sagoun Bungalow’ in the capital Raipur today morning by a large vehicle, decorated with flowers, for his home town Gourela. Repeated appeals of his son Amit Jogi and the administration on social media to maintain social distancing from the crowd that had gathered in the capital since last evening, proved ineffective. Security forces faced challenge in controlling the crowd. Mr Jogi's funeral procession comprised around 200 vehicles.
People gathered at different places on way from the capital to Bilaspur to bid adieu to their beloved leader. His mortal remains were kept at Marwahi Sadan, his residence in Bilaspur for public to pay final tributes. All arrangements made by the security forces here proved ineffective due to huge crowd. His mortal remains were subsequently brought to his home village Jogisar via Kota and Ratanpur. His family members and villagers in Jogisar village paid final tributes to him.
