Fadnavis requests opposition not to make fun of PM's suggestions to save economy

Mumbai, May 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis requested the opposition on Wednesday not to make fun of austerity measures suggested by Prime Minister Modi to save the economy, especially in view of the ongoing crisis in West Asia on which India depends for its petroleum supply.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday afternoon after unveiling the logo of the 2026-28 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, Fadnavis said, “We are seeing that the situation in several countries is very bad. In some countries, there is a lockdown, while petrol prices have gone up to Rs 450-500 per litre and fuel is not available on certain days. Even if the opposition may not want to implement austerity measures suggested by the PM, at least they must not make fun of his suggestions”.
Fadnavis said that the global situation is very serious and that the Maharashtra government has already begun taking steps to reduce expenditure wherever foreign exchange is involved.
