Fico calls Putin-Trump meeting 'big step forward'

Moscow, Sept 2 (UNI) The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is a big step forward, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Tuesday.
"As for the military conflict in Ukraine, my positions are completely different from those of our colleagues in the West. I want to ask, can I convey a message from your side to my colleagues, because what you did regarding the meeting with the US President is a big step forward," Fico said at a meeting with Putin.
The prime minister added that he would like to give more details about what to expect in the future as European leaders would call and ask about what the Russian president said.
