Film fest of IT fraternity concludes at Technopark

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 21 (UNI) The 13th edition of PrathidhwaniQisa Film Festival 2024’ (PQFF 2024), which showcased 32 short films made by IT employees of Technopark, Infopark and Cyber Park in the state, concluded at Technopark here.
PQFF 2024 was organized by Prathidhwani, the welfare and recreation forum of IT employees at Technopark.
Cultural artist and writer Soorya Krishnamoorthy gave away the awards to the winners of the film festival, sponsored by Kerala Vision Broadband. Prathidhwani Film Club Joint Convenor Muhammed Aneesh presided over the function. Noted film critic M F Thomas delivered the keynote address on the occasion.
A Jury comprising actor and dubbing artist Prof. Aliyar, director Prasanth Vijay, and actor Pradeep Kumar adjudged the winners. PQFF 2024 Director Rohith K, General Convenor Hari S, and Prathidhwani President Vishnu Rajendran also spoke.
The Best Short Film received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and the Second Best Short Film, the Best Director and the Best Screenplay got a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each. There were special awards in the Best Actor, Actress, Cinematographer and Editor categories.
PQFF 2024 awards are the following: Best Film- ‘Patterns’ (Director: Raj Govind, Entri Software, Kochi); Second Best Film—‘Cubicled’ (Dir: Mahesh Manas, IBM, Kochi); Best Director: Akhil Govind, EY, Kochi (Film: ‘Manikandan’); Best Screenplay—Rakesh Gopalakrishnan, UST, Thiruvananthapuram (‘Adharvam’); Best Cinematographer—Johnpaul Mathew (‘How Are You?’); Best Editor—Nikhil Sudarshan (‘Patterns’); Abhimanyu Ramanandan Memorial Award for Best Actor—Anumod Sagar, Infosys, Thiruvananthapuram (‘Kintasugi’); Ramanandan Memorial Award for Best Actress—Dhanya Parvathy, Strada Global, Kochi (‘Beyond the Door’); Viewers Choice Award—‘Dwayam’ (Dir: Amal, Ainsurtech, Thiruvananthapuram); Special Jury Award (Acting)—Pradeep Joseph, UST (‘Patterns’), and Vinod Kumar Rajan (‘Manikandan’).
So far, PQFF, the only film festival exclusively for IT employees, has premiered around 600 short films in its earlier editions. The winners received awards from personalities like Shaji N Karun (2012), Vineeth Srinivasan (2013), Adoor Gopalakrishnan (2014), Shyamaprasad (2015), Jayaraj (2016), Dileesh Pothen (2017), Amal Neerad (2018), Khalid Rahman (2019) Vidhu Vincent(2020), Jeo baby (2021), MF Thomas(2022) and TK Rajeev Kumar(2023) in previous years.
