Foreigner records littering near Mumbai landmark , Man allegedly dumps household waste into sea

Mumbai, Jan 13 (UNI) A video showing a man allegedly dumping garbage into the sea near Mumbai’s iconic Gateway of India has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism and renewed discussion on civic responsibility and environmental behaviour in public spaces.
The incident came to public attention after a foreign tourist recorded the act while seated on the safety wall along the seafront near the landmark. In the footage, the foreigner is seen quietly filming the surroundings when a man wearing a helmet arrives at the spot accompanied by a woman and a child. Carrying a cloth bag, the man briefly stops, opens the bag, and empties its contents, allegedly household waste, directly into the sea before leaving the area.
The act appears to surprise the person recording the video. As the man disposes of the waste and walks away without showing any visible hesitation or remorse, the foreigner is heard reacting in disbelief and questioning what had just occurred. The camera then pans towards the man departing with the woman and child, while the foreigner narrates what he witnessed and expresses disapproval, remarking that the act was not appropriate.
