Forest officials arrest 19 fishermen for catching fish illegally

Kendrapada, Feb 4 (UNI) The forest personnel of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary arrested 19 fishermen including five from Andhra Pradesh on the charge of fishing illegally prohibited zone of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, an official said on Saturday.
Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary Ranger Manas Kumar Das said the forest officials also seized three trawlers and 6.6 quintals of fish catch, 22 nets,3 VHF sets, 3 GPS, and two fish finders from the intercepted vessels,.
All the 19 arrested fishermen were booked under Section 27,29,31 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act,1972
