Former Cong MLA granted bail in sedition case

Shimla, Jun 30 (UNI) The District and Sessions Judge in Shimla on Tuesday granted bail to Congress leader Neeraj Bharti on a personal bond of Rs 50,000, in a sedition case.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the state police had registered a case on June 20 against Neeraj under Sections 124 A, 153 A, 504 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code for posting seditious and defamatory content on social media against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The complaint, filed by a resident of Shimla, had alleged that Bharti had posted four updates on social media with intent to created hatred against the government, demeaned, defamed and spread enmity against the government.
