Former US diplomat to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad warns of broader repercussions post Pakistan's 'failed' airstrikes

Kabul, Oct 12 (UNI) Former US Special Envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad has warned that Pakistan's recent airstrikes on Kabul could serve as the trigger to igniting the sparks of a potential regional conflict in the near future, deeming Islamabad's operation as a "failure" and urging immediate diplomatic intervention to prevent further escalation.
"Pakistan's attack against the capital of Afghanistan appears to have been a failure," Khalilzad wrote on X on Saturday.
"It seems that the person who was targeted may not have been in Kabul at all. What might Islamabad do next? More attacks?
