Four killed as car hits goods-laden truck in West Medinipur

Kolkata, July 12 (UNI) Four people were killed when their Scorpio on a high speed jumped the divider and fell on the other lane on NO 16 NH and hit a tomato-laden truck at Rani Sarai under Belda in West Bengal's West Medinipur, police said today.
All the victims, the residents of Asansol in West Burdman, were the occupants of Scorpio, which turned into a mangle of scrap by the impact of the violent accident.
Only one occupant was identified as Atanu Guha. All the victims were taken to Belda hospital where medics declared all dead.
The accident happened around 6 am when the victims were travelling towards Baleswar in Odisha and the truck on the other lane was heading in the opposite direction.
The truck driver and his helper have been arrested.
