Fresh cases of Covid-19 surpass 10,000 mark in AP, 31 more die

Vijayawada, Apr 22 (UNI) The Coronavirus pandemic situation has become grim in Andhra Pradesh as a whopping 10,759 new cases were reported in a period of 24 hours while 31 more patients died.
According to a health bulletin, released by the government here on Thursday, 41,871 swab samples were tested in a period of 24 hours ending at 10 am today of which 10,759 new cases were reported while 31 more patients died. The pandemic has so far claimed 7,541 lives. There are 66,944 active cases in the state now.
Most of the fresh cases were reported in Chittoor district (1474), Kurnool district (1367), Srikakulam district (1336) and in Guntur district (1186). The total number of positive cases has touched 9,97,462 and 9,22,977 have been discharged from various hospitals as they recovered. So far 1,58,35,169 swab samples were tested in the state.
