From pen to planet Earth: Authors to hold Environment Walk in Shimla

Shimla, Jul 17 (UNI) Taking a break from the mighty pen, as many as 50 renowned authors of Himachal Pradesh have decided to organise an Environment Walk on Kalka-Shimla UNESCO heritage rail track on July 21, to spread awareness on the burning issue.
Prominent state writer and Convenor of Laikhak Avum Himalaya Munch S R Harnot said in a statement here on Wednesday that the authors would gather at Taradevi Railway station at 0900 hrs, from where they would walk towards Summberhill railway station.
During the walk, they would collect garbage and litter from the track and plant new saplings and seeds along the barren and empty places on the junction of the heritage rail track, he added.
