Garuda drones aid Army in J&K, Himachal floods

Bengaluru, Sept 10 (UNI) Garuda Aerospace, India’s leading drone manufacturer, has deployed more than ten drones to assist the Indian Army in flood relief operations in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
According to the company, its drones have delivered nearly 300 kgs of essential supplies to stranded communities while also conducting aerial surveys to assess damage, identify vulnerable areas, and coordinate relief efforts.
In Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, two delivery drones are transporting medicines, food, and water to flood-affected areas that remain cut off due to landslides and disrupted roads. Despite the treacherous terrain of narrow valleys and steep slopes, the drones have ensured timely delivery of relief materials, directly supporting local authorities in their rescue missions.
In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, Garuda Aerospace deployed ten "Jawan drones" to transport supplies to Chilla village, which had been isolated by floods and landslides. Working with the Indian Army and the Kathua District Administration, the drones successfully delivered food, cooking oil, medicines, and other provisions to stranded families.
Garuda Aerospace Founder and CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash said, "Garuda Aerospace has made a significant impact by deploying drones for various disaster operations and supporting the government. As a proud citizen of India, I am honored to contribute to these efforts during emergencies, ensuring timely and effective assistance. Garuda Aerospace remains committed to serving as a first responder whenever the need arises."
The company has a track record of deploying its drones during national emergencies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, in partnership with Swiggy, it delivered medicines and vaccines to hospitals. In 2021, its White Knight drones assisted ISRO in delivering medical supplies in Bengaluru. Garuda Aerospace has also supported relief efforts during the Chamoli glacier burst in Uttarakhand, locust control in Rajasthan, and floods in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Chennai.
Most recently, in 2025, Garuda’s consumer drone "Droni" assisted the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) during the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel collapse in Telangana by providing real-time mapping and video feeds that helped locate trapped workers in hazardous conditions.
