Gill and me should have given stronger start: Suryakumar

New Chandigarh, Dec 11 (UNI) India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav reflected on his team’s defeat against South Africa in the second T20, admitting that he and Shubman Gill could have taken more responsibility at the top of the order.
Speaking after the match, Suryakumar said, "I mean, we bowled first and there was not enough we could do. We could have just come back nicely because we bowled first, and then later on they realized how important the lengths are on this wicket. But yeah, it’s a learning process. We just learn and move forward."
India suffered a 51-run defeat against South Africa in the second T20, allowing the visitors to level the series 1-1 after a 101-run loss to the hosts at Cuttack. Quinton de Kock stole the show with a brilliant 90-run innings, while Ottneil Baartman shone with a four-wicket haul. The lone fighter for India was Tilak Verma, who scored a quickfire 62 off 34 balls, hitting five sixes and two boundaries.
