Harmanpreet's blitz powers MI Women to win over GG

Navi Mumbai, Jan 13 (UNI) Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s explosive 71-run innings guided Mumbai Indians Women to a thrilling seven-wicket victory over Gujarat Giants Women in the 6th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy here on Tuesday evening.
Harmanpreet’s performance, which earned her back-to-back Player of the Match awards, highlighted her match-winning ability and anchored a successful chase of 193.
After winning the toss and choosing to field, Mumbai restricted Gujarat to a competitive 192 for 5 in 20 overs. Beth Mooney top-scored for Gujarat with 33 runs off 26 balls, while Kanika Ahuja contributed a quickfire 35 off 18 balls. Georgia Wareham remained unbeaten on 43 off 33 deliveries. Ashleigh Gardner, Gujarat captain, added 20 runs before being trapped lbw by Nicola Carey.
