HP Board Revamps Exam Pattern; Class X, XII Exams from March 3

Dharamshala, Jan 24 (UNI) Ending the long wait of lakhs of students and parents, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board (HPBOSE) today announced the schedule for the Annual Examination–2026, introducing major reforms in the examination pattern aimed at fairness and student welfare.
Addressing a press conference here, HPBOSE Chairman Dr Rajesh Sharma said that the Class X and Class XII examinations, including those of the State Open School (HPSOS), will commence simultaneously from March 3. He said the Board has prepared a comprehensive roadmap to ensure timely conduct of examinations and early declaration of results.
Highlighting a major reform, Dr Sharma said that the long-standing grievance regarding different question paper series (A, B, C) has been addressed. From this year onwards, all three series will carry identical questions, with only the sequence altered through question shuffling. This, he said, would ensure uniform difficulty levels, fair evaluation and greater credibility of the merit list.
