HP developments not to suffer despite state facing financial crunch: SS Sukhu

Hamirpur (HP), Feb 4 (UNI) HP Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday assured people that the developmental activities in the state would not be allowed to suffer even if the state was passing through one of the worst financial crises. He said that the previous BJP government’s mismanagement was responsible for the crisis and time had come to end the crisis forever.

While addressing his first rally after taking over the post of Chief Minister at Gandhi chowk here today, Sukhoo said that the construction work of the Hamirpur bus stand that had been pending for a long would be started and funds for this would be shown in this year’s annual, budget.

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed gratitude to the people for their whole-hearted support. He said that the State government will take necessary steps for the all-round development of district Hamirpur. He said that Dr. Radhakrishnan Hamirpur Medical College would emerge as a pioneering college in the state and it will be equipped with the latest technologies. He said that after the construction of this college, people will not have to visit other hospitals for specialized services. He also announced the opening of a Nursing College in the Medical College.
The Chief Minister said that adequate funds would be provided in the budget to construct a new bus stand at Hamirpur. While announcing the opening of a big indoor stadium in Hamirpur, he said that the government would provide an adequate budget for its construction. He said that the development of Gasota Mahadev Temple from a tourism point of view and the opening of the Veterinary College in Taal will be considered.
Sukhu said that the State government was determined to make Himachal the most developed state in the country. He said that in the very first meeting of the cabinet, the present government restored the old pension by fulfilling the demand of 1.36 lakh employees. The process has also been started to provide Rs. 1500 per month to women.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government will fulfil all its promises in a phased manner. He said that a provision of Rs. 1000 crore is being made to strengthen the rural economy. The government would buy cow milk from farmers at the rate of Rs. 80 per litre and buffalo milk at Rs.100 per litre. He said that the motto of the present state government is not to enjoy the power but to bring 'Vyavstha Parivartan' into the state for which active cooperation of people is necessary. The state's economic situation will be back on track only through collective efforts.
The Chief Minister said that the entire state is his family and he is working 24x7 to take Himachal to new heights of development. He has been serving people for more than 40 years in his political career and is well aware of the sufferings of the people. He said that since the first day of the formation of the government, he has been working for the upliftment of the weaker section of society. The age for taking care of orphan children has been increased to 27 years and they will also be given four biswa land to build a house. The government will also bear the expenses of their higher education.
Earlier, MLA Hamirpur, Ashish Sharma welcomed Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and presented him with a huge trident.
During the rally of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu organized at Hamirpur Gandhi Chowk, a large crowd gathered and they rented the air with the slogans of SS Sukhoo zindabad.

In his address at the rally venue, Chief Minister praised local Independent MLA, Ashish Sharma and said that the Hamirpur Medical College will be made the best medical college of the state and people will get all the facilities in the college in the coming days.

He also announced the opening of a nursing College in Hamirpur for the benefit of the local people.

Sukhu said that work will be done to uplift the district from the point of view of tourism and water-based tourism would be promoted in the Nadaun areas of the district.
