HP to develop early warning system to tackle disaster

Shimla, Jan 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government would acquire early warning system to face and mitigate natural and man-made disaster, a state government spokesperson said here on Monday.
Taking cognizance of the recent incident of sinking of Joshimath, in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the officers to develop an advance warning system to mitigate disasters and improve the Disaster Management Response Capacity System, the spokesperson said.
This decision of the Chief Minister would go a long way in identifying the areas more prone to earthquakes and also help in prepare a detailed report of landslides and sinking zones, he said.
