Hrithik Roshan applauds cast, storytelling of ‘Dhurandhar’ spy thriller

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Actor Hrithik Roshan has joined a wave of celebrities lauding Ranveer Singh’s latest outing, Dhurandhar, offering a nuanced take that praises the film’s narrative while questioning its political undertones.
Taking to Instagram, the War 2 star shared a heartfelt note about the spy thriller, writing, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control… Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It's cinema.”
While applauding the film’s craft, Hrithik clarified that he disagrees with its political messaging. “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, I can’t ignore how I loved and learnt from one as a student of cinema. Amazing,” he added.
He also expressed his anticipation for the sequel, tweeting, “Still can't get Dhurandhar out of my mind. Aditya Dhar Films, you are an incredible maker, man.”
Hrithik went on to give special shoutouts to the cast, “Ranveer Official, the silent to the fierce—what a journey and so damn consistent.” “Akshay Khanna has always been my favourite, and this film proves why.” “ActorMadhavan, bloody mad grace, strength, and dignity!!” “But man Rakesh Bedi, what you did was phenomenal… what an ACT, brilliant!!” He also praised the makeup and prosthetics team, concluding, “I can’t wait for part 2!!!”
Hrithik’s review follows a series of industry praises for Dhurandhar. Akshay Kumar lauded its “hard-hitting story,” while Rakul Preet Singh, Smriti Irani, Anupam Kher, and Deepika Padukone also showed support for Ranveer Singh and the film.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar follows Indian spy Hamza as he infiltrates Pakistan to join Rehman Dakait’s gang. Inspired by real-life events—including the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack—the film explores the India-Pakistan conflict through the lens of espionage.
The film features Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Dhurandhar has already achieved significant box office success.
