Hyd: Cyberabad Police rescue 337 Children, Book 119 cases under Operation Smile-XII

Hyderabad, Jan 24 (UNI) The Cyberabad Police Women & Child Safety Wing intensified enforcement and awareness activities across the commissionerate from January 17 to 23, resulting in the rescue of 337 children and the registration of 119 cases under the Juvenile Justice Act and Child Labour Act as part of Operation Smile-XII.
The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued 329 boys and eight girls from child labour and vulnerable situations during special drives conducted across Cyberabad limits, said K. Srujana, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women & Child Safety Wing), Cyberabad, in a release here on Saturday.
During the same period, SHE Teams conducted 176 decoy operations and caught 55 persons red-handed for indulging in indecent acts at public places. Petty cases were booked in 45 instances, while the remaining offenders were counselled.

Kishan Reddy demands clearance of Rs 54,000 cr dues to Singareni, defends Tadicherla-2 coal block allocation

Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday demanded that the Telangana government immediately clear over Rs 54,000 crore in dues owed to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), saying the mounting arrears were pushing the public sector coal miner into financial distress and affecting its ability to pay salaries, modernise mines and invest in expansion.

Bodies of AP tourists killed in Vietnam boat accident reach Hyderabad

Kerala Human Rights Commission orders war-footing action to clear waste from State capital

Thiruvananthapuram, July 14 (UNI) Taking serious note of mounting complaints that canals, streams and roadsides in the State capital have turned into garbage dumps, the Kerala State Human Rights Commission (HRC) has directed the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation to launch immediate and coordinated action to clear the accumulated waste and establish a permanent mechanism to prevent its recurrence.
