Hyderabad: 2-day Refresher Program on environmental governance begins

Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) A two-day Refresher Programme for Forests & Environment and Science & Technology (EFS&T) personnel on Environmental Governance began here on Thursday.
EFS&T Department Principal Secretary & Environment Protection Training & Research Institute (EPTRI) Director General Ms A.Vani Prasad delivered a keynote address in the Inaugural Session, followed by several Technical Sessions.Dr. Rajeswar Jonnalagadda, Head of Climate Change & Training Divisions coordinated this Refresher Programme organized jointly by EFS&T Department and EPTRI.
The purpose of this program is to impart training on the Technical and Administrative aspects of Environmental Governance, covering the following Objectives: Review of Environmental Philosophy & Movements; Describing various Environmental Acts in India for clean and safe environment; Enlisting Regulatory tools and Instruments for the enforcement of Environmental ; Compliance ; Explaining India’s domestic and International Commitments for clean & green environment besides Environmental Impact Assessment of Development projects for their environmental compliance.
