Hyderabad: Sudha Raghunathan’s vocal recital marks Lalaji Maharaj's 150th birthday celebrations

Hyderabad, Feb 3 (UNI) The final day of the ten-day long Kanha Music & Meditation Festival concluded with yet another extraordinary concert rendered by Sudha Ranganathan at Kanha Shanti Vanam – the headquarters of Heartfulness, the outskirts of the city, on Friday. The festival is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary week of Lalaji Maharaj – the Adi Guru of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.
Hundreds of thousands of seekers and visitors have been thronging the place even before the celebrations kick started and have been staying there as they partook in the Bhandara festivities.
A mass meditation soon followed the concert under the guidance of Kamlesh Patel ‘Daaji’ – the current President of Ram Chandra Mission and Guide of Heartfulness Meditation Worldwide.
Sudha Murthy, Director MEIL, Sudha Reddy Foundation Chairperson, and Chairperson to Sri Bhusametha Venkateswara Temple was also present at the event as a special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, ‘Daaji’ said, “It is a very special occasion for me as my master’s legacy is being celebrated by millions of participants from around the world. The past ten days have been luminous through the grace of Lalaji Maharaj and to see how many are embracing his method of meditation through Pranahuti is heart-warming. He has always been an inspiration to me and he continues to inspire millions by the greatness of his personality.”
A stellar performance by Sudha Raghunathan was the hallmark of the festival as her soulful music set the rhythm for a spiritual journey.
Sudha Raghunathan said, “I am grateful to have been given this opportunity to perform at such a serene and beautiful place like Kanha Shanti Vanam, that too in the divine presence of Pujya Daaji. This is quite an experience – a musical and yet a spiritual one for everyone present here.”
The event was also marked by the opening of the world’s first Inner Peace Museum at Heartfulness which showcases artworks, paintings, sculptures, and other installations that depict the life and teachings of the Lalaji Maharaj in his own handwriting.
Establishing the museum symbolizes that true peace can only be possible if we realize it in our hearts and through it unite as one. Professional artists from Germany and art students from The Dresden Academy of Fine Arts joined hands with the Heartfulness Institute for this beautiful initiative.
The ten-day music festival has had a line-up of greats such as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Rahul Sharma, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar and Shashank Subramanyam, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Kaushiki Chakraborty.
