Ilaiyaraaja 50 years, Akshaya Patra 25 unite in Bengaluru celebration

Bengaluru, Dec 15 (UNI) In a landmark convergence of culture and service, The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s 25-year Silver Jubilee, celebrated music maestro Shri Ilaiyaraaja’s 50 years in Indian music, and Mercuri Productions’ 100th event will come together in a single grand celebration in Bengaluru early next year.
The collaboration will culminate in “Ilaiyaraaja 50: A Legendary Musical Journey”, scheduled to be held on January 10, 2026, at NICE Grounds, Madavara, Bengaluru. The event will support “Music for Meals”, an Akshaya Patra initiative that harnesses the power of music to help provide nutritious meals to schoolchildren across the country.
As Akshaya Patra marks its Silver Jubilee year, the foundation said it has grown into one of the largest school meal programmes in the world, serving nutritious mid-day meals to over 2.33 million children every school day across 23,978 government and government-aided schools.
