New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party’s student wing, the Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), today called for a 50 percet concession in metro fares for students in Delhi, citing rising education costs and inflation.
The group accused the BJP-led government and rival student organisations of failing to deliver on past promises of subsidised travel.
At a press conference here, ASAP representatives argued that daily metro expenses —ranging from Rs 60 to Rs 100 — impose a significant financial burden on students, with monthly travel costs reaching up to Rs 3,000. Eeshna Gupta of ASAP stated that such expenses force many to compromise on their education, as funds that could be spent on books or skill development are diverted to transport.
