Indian businessman arrested with gold biscuits

Colombo, Sep 8 (UNI) A 29-year-old Indian national was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Katunayake Airport while attempting to smuggle gold biscuits worth approximately Rs. 30 million, media reports said.
The man, who had arrived from Chennai as a business passenger, was detained at the departure terminal on his way to board a flight to Bangalore, according to Daily mirror.
Upon searching him, CID officers found nine gold biscuits weighing 1.158 kgs and three additional gold pieces concealed in a small bag inside his trouser pocket.
