Indian para-cyclists win 11 medals at Thailand’s Para Cycling Cup 2025

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (UNI) Indian para-cyclists delivered an inspiring performance at the Para Cycling Cup 2025 held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, from December 5 to 7, securing a total of 11 medals—two silver and nine bronze.
The 10-member Indian contingent, trained by the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF), competed against para-athletes from 12 countries including Malaysia, Thailand, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, China, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Singapore and India.
The team featured two handcyclists, reflecting the growing strength and diversity of India’s para-cycling community. Young talents Vishva (16, Gujarat) and Lisha (15, Assam) emerged as standout performers, winning multiple medals in both track and road events.

Rehaan Ahtif approved as replacement for Dylan Thakrar in Tanzania squad

Dubai, Jan 20 (UNI) The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 has approved Rehaan Ahtif as a replacement for Dylan Thakrar in the Tanzania squad.
Ahtif was named as a replacement after Thakrar was ruled out due to an injury to his left middle finger during their second Group D match against South Africa.

Uganda's Olympic champion Cheptegei to run Dubai half marathon

Kampala, Jan 20 (UNI) Uganda's Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei will open his 2026 season at the Burj2Burj Half Marathon in Dubai on February 8, organizers said.
Cheptegei, who won the Tata Steel Kolkata Road Race in India last month, said he is aiming for a strong start to the year.
