Indonesian weightlifter collects gold at Hangzhou Asiad, set new world record

Hangzhou, Oct 3 (UNI) Twenty two-year-old Indonesian weightlifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, who took bronze in the men's 73kg at the Tokyo Olympic Games, clinched gold in the same event at Hangzhou Asiad on Tuesday, lifting 158kg in the snatch and 201kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 359kg and presenting a world record-breaking performance in the clean and jerk, one kilo better than his own previous best.

"It's an absorbing contest as I expected," said Abdullah, adding that he really enjoyed the process of the competition.
