Indra Pradana Singawinata begins his second-term of APO’s secretary general

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Indra Pradana Singawinata today begins his second term as the 13th secretary-general of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), said an official statement.
He was re-elected by the APO Governing body at its 67th session in May 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. His new term runs until September 15, 2028.
Academically, Singawinata holds a PhD in philosophy from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan. He has done his masters in accounting from the University of Indonesia and bachelor's in economics from Trisakti University, Indonesia.
“ Productivity is not merely output, but it is quality growth, dignified work, and sustainable progress,” said Singawinata.
In his second term, he aims to invest deliberately in productivity as a driver of competitiveness, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1961 to increase productivity in the Asia-Pacific region through mutual cooperation.
India is connected with APO as a member country and is currently serving Chair of the APO for the 2025-26 term. It involves India’s participation in APO's capacity-building programs, guiding the strategic agenda and engagement with other member economies.

India’s exports rise 18 pc in May; trade deficit widens to USD 28 21 bn

Four demerged Vedanta Cos make debut on stock exchanges

Mumbai, Jun 15 (UNI) Equity shares of the Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta group's four newly demerged companies, namely Vedanta Oil & Gas Ltd, Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd, Vedanta Power Ltd as well as Vedanta Iron & Steel, made their debut by listing on the BSE and the NSE here today.
The listing date of these Vedanta demerged entities was fixed as June 15 (Monday), and the shares got listed on both the BSE and the NSE, after a special pre-open trading session.
