Iron age began from Tamil landscape, tech to extract iron from ore introduced 5,300 yrs ago : Stalin

Chennai, Jan 23 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday declared that the iron age began from the Tamil lanscape and cited the research findings validated by various national and world research labs to declare this historic announcement to the world.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the archaeological museums at Keeladi and Gangaikonda Cholapuram, the erstwhile capital of King Rajendra Chola, besides launching the Keeladi website for the public, and a book on Antiquity of Iron, he said iron age in the world began from the Tamil landscape disproving the previously conceived notions as this region had possessed the technology to segregate iron from ore 5,300 years ago.
According to evidences unearthed at archaeological sites around the State which were validated by reputed labs in India and abroad proved that the Iron Age began in the Tamil landscape where the technology to extract iron from its ore was first introduced 5,300 years ago.
