New Delhi Oct 7 (UNI) After showcasing the life of Mountain man Dashrath Manjhi, director Ketan Mehta will now direct another biopic on the life of renowned ghazal singer Begum Akhtar. Titled 'Ae Mohabat', the movie was announced yesterday here by Anup Jalota Production and Ae Mohabbat productions. The makers of the movie has roped in versatile actor Irrfan Khan to play the protagonist but the name of lead female has not been finalised yet. It is reported that actor Kangana Ranaut might end up doing the biopic. The producers of the movie are trying to get the 'Queen' actress to play the key role, Jalota said. He said, 'The film is not a biopic but a feature film and is based on the singer’s life, the highs and lows, the times she lived in, her personality and professional life which had a cinematic quality.' 'As Begum Akhtar hailed from Faizabad and is buried in Lucknow, the film also got the support from Uttar Pradesh government,' Jolta added. Begum Akhtar well known for Ghazal, Dadra and Thumri genres of Hindustani classical music, was entitled with Malika-e-Ghazal and was awarded with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and conferred with Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan as well.
