Jammu, May 17 (UNI) In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Jammu District administration discussed the formulation of an action plan for the rehabilitation of children in distress or those forced to beg on the streets.
Chairing a meeting here on Tuesday, Jammu Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya emphasized the urgent need for rehabilitation of the targeted lot.
He urged stakeholders to start the exercise and come up with a meticulously drafted plan and stressed the importance of motivating these children and their families to seek shelter and education as an alternative to street life.
