JD(S) alleges children used in Karnataka caste survey

Bengaluru, Oct 5 (UNI) A video allegedly showing children collecting data for Karnataka’s ongoing socio-economic and caste survey has triggered a fresh political storm in Karnataka, with the Janata Dal (Secular) launching a scathing attack on the Congress government over the credibility of the exercise.
The JD(S), which shared the video on its official X account, claimed that minors were being used as enumerators in some areas, calling it a shocking breach of procedure. The party alleged that such lapses expose the "unscientific, unreliable and politically driven" nature of the Siddaramaiah government's survey.
JD(S) leaders questioned how data collected by untrained children could be trusted for a report of such socio-political importance. They further accused the government of misusing public money, alleging that hundreds of crores were being spent for partisan objectives rather than genuine social assessment.
