Jharkhand govt approves CS-Rank promotion for 2 1996-batch IAS officers

Ranchi, Dec 13 (UNI) The path has been cleared for promotion of Jharkhand-cadre IAS officer Vandana Dadel and Principal Secretary of the Drinking Water Department Mast Ram Meena to the rank of Chief Secretary (CS).
The state government has given its consent on the related proposal, and Vandana Dadel will receive the benefit of the promotion with effect from January 1, 2026. Formal orders in this regard are expected to be issued soon. Both officers belong to the 1996 batch, and their elevation is expected to bring significant changes in the state’s administrative structure.
At present, three Jharkhand-cadre officers of CS rank are on central deputation, including 1991-batch officer Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development; 1992-batch officer Nidhi Khare, Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs; and 1995-batch officer Satyendra Singh, Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. Shailesh Kumar Singh is scheduled to retire on March 31, 2026. In the state, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar (1993 batch), Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Nitin Madan Kulkarni (1995 batch), and Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Ajay Kumar Singh (1995 batch) are currently holding CS-rank positions.

Assam Rifles opens new skill development centre for displaced persons in Manipur
