Jharkhand targets piped drinking water for all rural households by Dec 2028

Ranchi, June 9 (UNI) Jharkhand aims to provide piped drinking water to all rural households by December 2028 under the Jal Jeevan Mission, officials informed Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a review meeting of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department here today.
Reviewing the progress of ongoing schemes and the department's roadmap for 2026-27, Soren directed officials to expedite implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission and ensure timely completion of projects.
The Chief Minister said availability of safe drinking water was a matter directly linked to public welfare and stressed that any laxity in execution would not be tolerated.
