K.V. Mohankumar selected for Malayattoor Foundation Literary Award 2026

Thiruvananthapuram, May 20 (UNI) The fifth Malayattoor Foundation Literary Award 2026 has been announced, with writer K.V. Mohankumar selected as the recipient.
The award has been instituted by the Malayattoor Foundation in Thiruvananthapuram in memory of eminent Malayalam writer Malayattoor Ramakrishnan.
The announcement was made by noted writer and Foundation President Perumbadavam Sreedharan. Mohankumar has been chosen for his novel “Ula Niyogiyude Sanchaarangal: Masoodiyudeyum”.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs25,000, a sculpture designed by artist Krishnan Kallar, and a citation. It will be presented on May 30, 2026, marking the 99th birth anniversary of Malayattoor Ramakrishnan, at the Malayattoor Cultural Evening to be held at Bharat Bhavan, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram. The selection was made from six novels published between 2021 and 2025 (first editions), which were shortlisted after preliminary evaluation. The jury comprised writers V.J. James, Saritha Mohanan Bhama, and Malayattoor Foundation Secretary P.R. Sreekumar.
