Kangra valley drenched by heavy rains

Kangra, Aug 19 (UNI) Kangra valley was on Friday drenched following heavy rains during the last 24 hours and the road outside the bus stand and Dharamshala road got water logged and even water entered some houses in Jaynati Vihar. Kangra town recorded more than 50 mm rains during the last 24 hours.
The rains dropped down the temperature and provided relief to the residents from the scorching heat with maximum temperature today touched 29.2 degree Celsius. The rains continued since last evening and were continuing till this evening intermittently leaving life out of gear. It was raining till filing of this report.
The Manji and Manooni rivers were swollen after the rains. Metrological department has predicted thunder with rains and flashfloods at many places for next 48 hours.
