Karnataka BJP chief accuses CM of passing the buck on farmers' crisis

Bengaluru, Nov 7 (UNI) Karnataka BJP president Vijayendra Yediyurappa accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of "passing the buck" to the Centre instead of taking responsibility for resolving the state's escalating sugarcane crisis.
"When the matter is this serious, can a district commissioner resolve it alone? Isn't it the duty of the Chief Minister or the sugar minister to step in and find a solution? Instead of passing the buck, the state government must act decisively," Vijayendra said while addressing media.
He alleged that the Congress government had completely neglected sugarcane farmers by failing to initiate talks between growers and factory owners even as protests entered eighth day.
