Kerala Forest Dept to launch Mobile App for rapid wild boar response

Thiruvananthapuram, June 8 (UNI) In a major step to tackle the growing menace of wild boars and other wildlife, the Kerala Forest Department has decided to develop a mobile application that will enable authorities to quickly mobilise the nearest registered shooter whenever a wild boar intrusion is reported.
The proposed application, to be developed on the lines of the existing "Sarpa" app, will send instant alerts to registered shooters operating in areas affected by wild boar attacks.
The platform will also include the contact details of ward members, panchayat secretaries and vigilance committee coordinators to ensure faster coordination and responses during emergencies. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen wildlife conflict mitigation across the state.
