Kerala reports 1 death, 108 new COVID cases, 50 recoveries, 1,029 patients under treatment: Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 6 (UNI) Kerala reported one death due to COVID-19 on Saturday, whereas 108 people tested positive newly, 50 were recovered and 1,029 patients are under treatment in various districts, Health Minister KK Shailaja Teacher said.
In a statement issued here this evening, the Health Minister said, "1,83,097 people are under surveillance in different districts of the state. Of these, 1,81,482 are under home or institutional quarantine and 1,615 are isolated in hospitals. 284 persons were admitted to the hospital today."
Confirming the death of a 61-year-old native of Malappuram district, who was undergoing treatment for COVID in the district, she said, "Nineteen persons from Kollam district, 16 in Thrissur district, 12 each from Malappuram and Kannur districts, 11 from Palakkad district, 10 in Kasargod district, nine from Pathanamthitta district, four each in Alappuzha and Kozhikode districts, three each from Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Ernakulam districts and two in Kottayam district are those who have tested positive today."
