Kerala’s biggest film carnival unfolds today: 206 films, 82 countries at IFFK 2025

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 12 (UNI) The 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), a landmark cultural event that has significantly shaped Malayali engagement with world cinema, will be inaugurated this evening in a grand ceremony at the Nishagandhi Auditorium. Culture Minister Saji Cherian will officially open the eight-day festival at 6 pm.
One of India’s most celebrated film festivals, this year’s IFFK features an impressive line-up of 206 films from 82 countries, screened across 26 curated categories in 16 theatres across the capital city from December 12 to 19.
Kerala State Chalachitra Academy Vice-Chairperson Cuckoo Parameswaran will preside over the inaugural session, which will have acclaimed Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín as the Chief Guest. Palestine Ambassador Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh and German Ambassador Dr. Philipp Ackermann will attend as Guests of Honour.
