Kharge Attacks Modi Govt Over Rising Crime, Suicides, Citing NCRB Data; Says 'Reality Has Exposed Hollow Claims'

‎New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) ‎Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi-led government, alleging that the past 12 years of BJP rule had exposed the "hollowness" of its claims on law and order, women's safety and social justice, while citing National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data to underline what he described as a worsening social crisis in the country.
‎In a post on social media platform X, Kharge said the government's narrative of strong governance stood contradicted by official statistics that showed a steep rise in crimes against vulnerable sections and a surge in suicides among economically distressed groups.
‎"Twelve years of the Modi Government have exposed the hollowness of its claims on 'law and order' and 'women's safety,' bringing the truth before the nation," Kharge said.
